SANTA ROSA, Calif. — A 9-year-old old boy lost all his cherished memorabilia when his house burned down in the California wildfires.

Loren is a diehard baseball fan and said the Oakland A’s are his favorite team. He wrote a letter to the team telling them his story.

A’s president Dave Kaval saw Loren’s story and offered to help outfit him with new gear. Loren got to meet A’s catcher Bruce Maxwell, as well as the team’s manager, Bob Melvin.

The boy was surprised with season tickets for next season. He also got to replace the gear he lost in the fire.

Loren got to play catch with Maxwell and received signed jerseys from the catcher and the manager.

Even though he lost everything, Loren said he plans to share his new gear with his friends.

“It’s so much stuff and I’m like, 'I can’t put this anywhere, why don’t I give a little bit to my friends and have, like, equal?'” he said.
