6-year-old battling brain tumor becomes police chief

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — A young boy battling a battling a rare brain tumor had his dream come true when he got to be police chief for the day at the Framingham Police Department in Massachusetts.

Six-year-old Devin Suau was diagnosed just four weeks ago with a rare pediatric cancer and inoperable brain tumor, according to WCVB.

There is little research on his form of cancer, so his family is trying to raise money to participate in clinical trials.

As police chief for the day, Devin got a police escort through the community that has supported him during his cancer fight.

He was sworn in and pinned with a badge.

His family has coined the hashtag #WhyNotDevin to ask why he can't be the first boy to beat the inoperable cancer.
