Twenty thousand pounds of the beloved dairy product was burned in a fiery, melty spectacle.

WTMJ-TV reports the breaks of a semi hauling Kraft and Velveeta brand cheese caught fire Tuesday on a highway outside Milwaukee.

The driver pulled off the road and into a parking lot where he disconnect his cab from the trailer and drove a safe distance away from the fire, WTMJ-TV reported.

The semi and the cheese were both a total loss.

The cheese was believed to have been heading out of state.
