Men fall off 2nd-floor balcony during scuffle

A man is recovering in the hospital after falling off a second-floor balcony at a Clayton County apartment complex.

The incident happened at the Chase Village Apartments on Chase Village Drive Sunday night.

Sean Jarrett saw the entire incident take place. He said a gathering to watch a football game took a violent turn.

"It's a bloody mess out here. I mean, the dude who actually fell over the balcony, who caused it, he was bleeding from his mouth and his head and arms and everything," Jarrett said.

Jarrett told Channel 2's Alina Machado that a man became enraged after seeing his wife dancing with another man.

"That's when he tried to attack. So I pinned him down on the couch and I was telling him to calm down, but he didn't want to hear it," Jarrett said.

Moments later, Jarrett said, the man was on the ground below.

"Right as he wanted to fight, I had two other buddies holding him, trying to restrain him and he just went head-first off the balcony right there," Jarrett said.

Jarrett said all three men fell into the bushes. Clayton County police said two of the men were treated at the scene and a third was taken to the hospital.

Jarrett had a torn shirt and some bruising. He said he is shocked by what happened.

"This is not how I expected tonight to turn out to be," Jarrett said.

The condition of the man who was taken to the hospital is not known. It is also unclear if charges will be filed.
