Man Shot, Killed Inside DeKalb Home

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga.,None — Police in DeKalb County said a shooting investigation became a homicide investigation overnight.

A man shot at a home on Forest East Lane off Redan Road has died.

Detectives said a woman was being questioned, but officers have not said if she is a suspect or a witness.

Some neighbors in the area told Channel 2 Action News reporter Darryn Moore that they are worried about their safety.

"You're living in this area where you think it's safe and everything. It's always quiet so you wouldn't expect anything to happen like that," said neighbor Lisa Gunter.

Police said the shooting happened inside the house.

"There is one individual who was shot. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead," said Lt. Tom Stewart of the DeKalb County Police Department.

Detectives said they believe there were at least two people inside the home at the time of the shooting.

Neighbors said they were concerned.

"The police aren't really giving us too much information, but it's definitely alarming when you're a homeowner in an area where you do not expect a lot of crime," said neighbor Lanell Gunter-Wilson.

The victim's name has not been released.
