JONESBORO, Ga,None — The North Clayton Eagles didn't allow a point in either of their first two games. Lovejoy, however, proved it had the better defense when the region rivals matched up in the Sports Zone Game of the Week on Thursday night.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 9-0 halftime lead on the strength of a safety and a first-quarter Travis Custis touchdown run.
Lovejoy suffocated the Eagles offense all game long, then put the game away on a third-quarter, 31-yard punt return touchdown by Kaylon White.
The Wildcats won a by a final of 24-0, improving to 2-0 on the season. North Clayton falls to 2-1.
Next week's game on ME-TV, which viewers can see on Comcast channel 248 or Charter channel 126, features Heritage on the road against Rockdale County.
