Woman's body found near Chattahoochee River

ROSWELL, Ga. — For the third time in a week, another body has been found along the banks of the Chattahoochee River.

Roswell police say a woman’s body was found around 1 p.m. Sunday on federal land at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area's Vickery Creek Park.

Police said the FBI will take over the investigation since the body was found on federal land.

The body has been turned over to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office.

“There is a dam, and I know that people like hang out underneath the dam and the rocks, and the sides of the river tanning,” said runner Madeline Rice.

Another female's body was found in the Chattahoochee River in Johns Creek on May 3. She was identified as 57-year-old Gee Hee Kang.  On May 5, a man's body was found near the river in Austell. Authorities said 34-year-old Perfecto Ochoa Alvarado death was considered a homicide.
