Woman critically injured in Sandy Springs shooting

NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A woman found shot several times in the breezeway of a Sandy Springs apartment complex Friday night is in critical condition.

The complex, the Residences of Morgan Falls Apartments, is the same location where a fatal shooting occurred a week ago. But police said there was no evidence of a connection between the two shootings.

Police spokesman Steve Rose said Friday’s shooting occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Jefferson Drive. Witnesses said they heard several gunshots before 40-year-old Adina Parson, a resident in the complex was found. Parson is being held at Grady Hospital.

“The victim appears to have been shot several times in the head,” Rose said in a statement. “She was taken to Grady Hospital in critical condition.” The woman’s identity was not disclosed.

On April 14, two people were shot, one fatally, in the parking lot of the same complex.

According to police, Patrick Placide, 28, was killed and his cousin Jeanlouis Willly, 28, was wounded. Police suspect the shooting resulted from a botched drug deal.

“Presently, there is no evidence to show a connection with last week’s shooting in the 1400 block of Jefferson Drive,” Rose said of the shooting Friday.

Police have not identified a motive in the recent incident.
