DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - The DeKalb County Jail is back under normal operations after being placed on lock down for several hours after a bomb threat just outside the jail’s gates.
Sheriff's deputies said they got a call from a woman shortly after 3:30 p.m. saying she parked her car outside the jail and there were explosives in it.
As News Chopper 2 flew overhead, you could see a police bomb robot circling a white four-door sedan.
The car was parked in front of the sally port, which is where police take inmates in and out of the Jail.
Investigators told Channel 2's Ryan Young, Sewona Ketegou, 46, had been taken into custody in connection to the incident. The woman told police her sister placed the bomb in her car.
Young talked with deputies who said the jail was on lockdown, but inmates at the jail were not being evacuated. It later returned to normal after bomb squad officers determined there was no threat.
