If you are heading out on the roads this weekend, be prepared for some traffic.
The Georgia Department of Transportation will be completing road work on several metro interstates.
Some of their big projects will create closures on major interstates throughout the weekend. We've compiled a list of some of the major projects below.
Douglas County: Workers will alternatingly close I-20 lanes both eastbound and westbound between State Route 5 and Liberty Road. The work will be continuous from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Rockdale County: Two eastbound left lanes between Conyers and Covington will be closed for a three-mile stretch for resurfacing. The work will be continuous from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Fulton County: Overnight restriping of several Westbound lanes will cause delays at Flat Shoals Road, Glenwood Avenue, Capitol Avenue and Windsor Street. The work will take place nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Cobb County: Two right lanes of I-285 northbound (inner loop) between South Cobb Drive and Paces Ferry Road will be closed for concrete slab replacement and repair. The work will be continuous from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Cobb County: Two left lanes in both directions will be closed between Powers Ferry Road and I-75 for work on sign structures. The work will be continuous from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
