Local police department takes part in 'Running man challenge' and we can't stop laughing

MONROE — Need a smile today? This video will do it.

The City of Monroe Police Department in Walton County created a unique take on the “running man challenge” that’s spreading through police departments across the country.

The video, starring Batman, was posted Thursday night on the department’s Facebook page – and we can’t stop watching it.

The video itself is hysterical, but the department posted a more serious message with it.

“It is important to remember that law enforcement officers are human and that they do interact together as a family during their time away from their personal families. Finding a small moment, like the one displayed here, to laugh and have fun is a rare opportunity that should be commemorated and not ridiculed in that their efforts are extremely dangerous and constantly have to endure extreme mental and physical stress on a daily basis,” they wrote.

We would try to describe the video for you, but think you should just watch it for yourself, especially at the 2:00 mark.

(Warning: Our sides hurt from laughing so hard)

If the “Running man challenge” is a competition, we think Monroe just won it.

The department called out all Atlanta law enforcement and public safety to take their shot at the challenge.
