"He was a man of strong faith. Not just in his words, but by the way he carried himself. He instilled in me that same faith," said RU defensive end Casimir Isles.

Hundreds, including the Reinhardt football team, attended a memorial service for Moses Wednesday.

"I know those tears. I know the feeling behind them. And so do many on this campus today and in this auditorium. They're the tokens of love. You don't need to be embarrassed by them," Rev. C.R. Hill said.

His tragic death at the age of 33 shook the community where he'd worked for five years.

"He meant a lot to the RU football family and the guys he worked with on a daily basis," head coach James Miller said.

"God knew what He was doing. God put him here to touch all of our lives," university President Dr. Kina Mallard said.

Moses' grieving family said they were touched by the ceremony.

"We're very thankful and it's very comforting to know he touched so many lives," his cousin Tanynika Gary said.

His godson brought many in the audience to tears when he spoke about Moses.

"All he wanted you to do is be great. He touched many lives in his wonderful life and he gets to rest in peace," Roderick Jones said.

Moses will be laid to rest Saturday in a service at Cornerstone Church in his hometown of Athens.
