MONROE, Ga. — A violent armed robbery has Monroe city police scrambling to catch the suspects.
The cashier at the Chevron on Church Street refused to comply with the robbers, even with a gun to her head.
Surveillance cameras could now help detectives find the suspects.
Navada Sawyer was working at the Chevron when two men knocked over a sunglasses stand, pushed a customer, and rushed the service counter around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Police shared the surveillance video with Channel 2’s Rikki Klaus of the robbery in full swing.
“I thought it was like a sick joke," Sawyer said. "He's like, 'Open the register!' I was like, 'You can open the register yourself if you're going to sit here and argue with me and yell at me.’"
The video shows the robber shoving a gun to the back of Sawyer's head.
"He was like, ‘I will kill you,’" Sawyer said.
Still she refused to play along.

"Don't come in and try to grab my arm and put a gun to my head and just sit there and think I'm going to bow down to you," Sawyer told Klaus.
Monroe police say one of the suspects started pressing buttons on the register and the drawer opened.
"I hope it was all worth it. Twenty years in prison for you. I mean their life is over, over $521 and two cartons of cigarettes. Yeah. That's lame," Sawyer said.
Sawyer said she wasn't trying to be brave. She just wanted to keep the attention on her to protect the manager and a customer in the store.

The mom of two young boys said she's thankful to be alive, to be able to go home to them.
"When I got home, I woke them up and hugged them a little tighter. Yeah. Try not to get emotional, but I did," Sawyer said.
Monroe police have reviewed the surveillance video and they are hoping someone may recognize the men. There is a reward in this case, and police are still searching for those suspects.
