HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - The mother of a Henry County teenager who was brutally attacked on a subdivision street shared video of the assault with Channel 2 Action News.
She hopes sharing the video will lead to the arrest of those responsible.
"You see him on the ground, all the blood, people stomping on his face. I thought they were trying to kill him," said Kim Walker.
Walker told Channel 2's Tom Regan her 16-year-old son, Brian, was passing through the Bristol Park subdivision in McDonough on April 9 to play basketball with friends. A car stopped next to him.
"Somebody jumped out and said, ‘There he is,’ and everybody went toward him," said Walker.
The victim's mother said he has no idea why he was attacked. He said it may be connected to an incident in which a student at his school bumped into him a week earlier.
The video shows about 10 people, including young women, surrounding the teen and beating and kicking him. One of the alleged attackers displays brass knuckles that she said she used to punch the teen.
"He has broken teeth. He has cracked teeth. We took him to the emergency room and he's going to have to go to some dentist to have work down," said Walker.
The mother said she first learned of the attack when her other son showed her the video that had been posted online. The video was removed, but she obtained a copy from a friend.
Walker said she wants police to study the video to identify assailants.
"I'm going to press charges. These people are too old to be jumping on a 16-year-old," said Walker.
Walker said she has been told her son will need oral reconstructive surgery. He also suffered a concussion and multiple scratches and bruises.
