Sources: Usher's stepson injured in Lake Lanier crash

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — WSB-TV has confirmed that the boy who suffered serious head injuries in a Waverunner crash on Lake Lanier on Friday is Usher's stepson, Kile Glover.

Glover, 11, was critically injured Friday afternoon when he and an unidentified 15-year-old girl were struck by a Waverunner while being pulled on a tube behind a pontoon boat near Holiday Marina, officials said.

The Department of Natural Resources has declined to identify the children involved, but WSB-TV sources confirmed the boy's identity.

Glover was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston in critical condition. The girl was also airlifted. Channel 2's Michael Buczyner learned that the girl had a broken arm and a laceration on her head.

The rented personal watercraft was being driven by an unidentified 38-year-old Atlanta resident, officials said.

Two Department of Natural Resource rangers witnessed the crash and helped rescue one child. A nearby boater rescued the second child. Officials said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Glover is the son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, and Atlanta clothier Ryan Glover. Usher, a popular R&B singer who lives in the Atlanta area, has two children with Foster.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta declined to release any information on the condition of the victims.

There is no word on if anyone will be charged in the incident.
