Tyler Perry donates $50K to paralyzed good Samaritan

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action has learned the good Samaritan paralyzed when he saved the life of a 4-year-old girl, Mike Patterson, is getting some help from an Atlanta media mogul.

A representative for Atlanta's Tyler Perry told Channel 2's Diana Davis that Perry has donated $50,000 to the Michael Patterson fund.

Patterson was paralyzed more than a week ago when he broke his neck diving into a creek to rescue 4-year-old Javea Jones.

Patterson's condition worsened over the weekend when he developed a high fever and infection.

His Facebook page said that fever is now under control.

Anyone interested in helping out the family can email them at FriendsOfMikePatterson@gmail.com.

Donations can also be made to the Mike Patterson Donation Fund, care of River City Bank, 228 N. 2nd Ave. SW, Rome, Ga. 30165.
