Two police officers involved in crash on I-20

A pair of APD officers were involved in a crash on I-20 near Moreland Avenue.

ATLANTA,None — A pair of police officers were involved in an accident on I-20 Saturday morning, an Atlanta Police spokeswoman said.

The crash closed several lanes of Interstate 20 westbound at Maynard Terrace just before 10 a.m.

The officers were traveling in seperate cruisers when one of the officers rear-ended the other on the on-ramp.

Police spokeswoman Kim Jones said the airbag deployed injuring the officer in the second vehicle. The officer in the first vehicle was reated for neck and back pain. Both were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

A DOT camera showed wreckers removing the police cruisers near an on-ramp just east of Moreland Avenue. The scene was cleared just before 11 a.m.
