FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Crews are preparing to close two lanes of Interstate 285 as crews work to make unexpected repairs.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said it is unsure of the specific cause of the damage other than the result of heavy use. The area was scheduled for a rehab project in 2014.
GDOT said crews went to the area Wednesday to fill a pothole and found significant deterioration to the concrete slabs. Repairs had to be made for safety reasons, GDOT said.
