Train slams into truck after it stalls on tracks

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County police are investigating a wreck between a box truck and a train at Old Dixie Highway and Charles W. Grant Parkway in Clayton County.

A Norfolk Southern Train slammed into a uniform supply truck just after 4 p.m. Thursday.

Channel 2's Tom Jones found medical uniforms all over the area when he arrived at the crash site.

The driver of the Cintas Uniform Supply truck told police that the truck stalled as he was crossing the tracks. The driver said that's when the safety lights went on and safety arms started coming down on his truck.

The driver said he tried to start the truck repeatedly, but decided to bail out of the truck as he saw the training nearing.

No one was hurt in the incident and police are hoping to have the scene cleared up fairly soon.

Investigators said the wreck is not really impacting the evening commute.
