GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — All lanes on Interstate 85 in Gwinnett County are back open after a fatal tractor trailer crash shut down the interstate for hours Saturday.
The crash happened around 11 a.m. near Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee. According to Gwinnett Fire spokesman, Colin Rhoden, the tractor trailer collided with a passenger car. The trailer and the car caught fire and the driver of the car died.
Firefighters had to open the trailer to put out the fire.
Southbound traffic was diverted to a nearby access road.
