Lanes reopened after truck fire on I-285

ATLANTA, Ga. — A tractor trailer fire shut down I-285 for several hours Tuesday morning.

The fire happened around 4:30 a.m. at I-285 north near Cascade Road in southwest Atlanta.

Commuters saw major delays on the westside of I-285.

Channel 2's Sophia Choi, who spent all morning covering the blaze, spoke with officials about the incident. They said the driver probably fell asleep, hit another truck and caught fire before he struck a guardrail. The tractor trailer was carrying household cleaners.

There were no reports of injuries.
