Chemical spill from I-75 crash cleaned up

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A truck carrying a hazardous material crashed on Interstate 75 Thursday morning, blocking all lanes of traffic.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said the truck overturned on I-75 southbound at mile marker 215 in Henry County around 6 a.m.

Police said the driver of the truck said there was tire debris in the road, and he overcorrected when he hit it and flipped the truck.

The driver said his truck was carrying 18 55-gallon drums of a highly flammable marine-grade resin.

The interstate was shut down for six hours to clean up the mess

The driver suffered minor injuries.
