ATLANTA — You’ve felt it, we’ve felt it – where is winter? Many of us have already brought out the shorts as temperature reach the mid-70s in mid-February.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz says this February has the warmest average highs on record since 1879.
Here is a list of the top 5 warmest February:
- 55.5° 2017 (so far)
- 54.9° 1927
- 54.8° 1890
- 54.6° 1957
Temperatures are expected to reach the upper-70s Friday.
Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns says Atlanta could hit a record temperature of 78 degrees on Friday.
A cold front moves in Friday night into Saturday morning.
Temperatures will drop to the mid-30s for Sunday morning.
Showers are expected Monday and Tuesday as temperatures warm back up to the 70s.
