ATLANTA - Thieves slammed a stolen car into a beauty supply store and left with thousands of dollars in hair.
The burglary happened at the Beauty Depot on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in northwest Atlanta on Thursday. Channel 2’s Sophia Choi was at the scene as a tow truck pulled a car from the store’s front entrance.
Atlanta police said three men used a stolen car with stolen tags to ram into the store shortly after 4 a.m. Police said the burglars rammed the door two times before finally getting in.
Police said the thieves got away with about $2,000 in human hair extensions. A store employee said the cash register was open, but no money was taken.
It was the third time the store has been hit by thieves, according to the employee. This time, the store owner was out of town.
The thieves got away in a car parked nearby, but police said they will use store surveillance video to identify them.
