Police: Homeowner shoots 2 teens in attempted burglary

ATLANTA — Authorities say two teens were shot while trying to break into a home in southwest Atlanta.

The attempted break-in happened at a home on Imperial Circle. A homeowner told police he opened fire on the teens when he caught them breaking into his residence. The teens then jumped into a car and drove themselves to a fire station at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

News Chopper 2 and Channel 2's Ryan Young gathered details from the scene.

Officials said Therrell High School, just a short distance away from the burglary scene, was put on a brief lockdown while police looked for the suspects.
