DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Two teenagers charged with murder were in a DeKalb County courtroom Thursday.
Detectives say Alexis Suthard, 16, took her father's gun to her boyfriend, Derrest Jones, 16, who used it to commit murder.
Police found Mark Elem fatally shot Nov. 5, in a grassy area on River Road in DeKalb County.
They say Jones confessed to shooting Elem in the back of the head.
"It's kind of mindless to me. You don't want to believe it, but the facts are what they are. He's gone, and there's nothing we can do about it," said Donald Morgan, Elem's uncle.
Both teenagers confessed to the crime, and both are being tried as adults.
Police say the teenagers took only a cellphone from Elem, which helped detectives track them down.
