Teen hides in closet, calls 911 during home invasion

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — We're hearing the 911 calls made by a brave Henry County girl as two home invaders held her mother at gunpoint.

The gunmen are still on the run.

The child’s father told Channel 2’s Liz Artz he wants the public to know what the two men put his family though.

“There's someone in my house,” the terrified 14-year-old tells a Henry County dispatcher on the 911 call. %

The teen was upstairs with her best friend ,who was sleeping over, and 7-year-old brother.

“Please just hurry! He's in my mom's room. He’s downstairs and I'm upstairs with my brother and my best friend."

The operator tried to comfort the children during the entire call, which lasted more than 20 minutes.

“Please, he's coming,” the girl says.

“Honey, I got it, I got you. I’ve got them coming to you,” the operator responds.

The operator told the children to hide in a closet.

“I hear footsteps, I hear footsteps,” the girl says.

"You be silent. Y'all be quiet. Don’t say a word, I'm here with you, don't say a word,” the operator responds.

It happened Tuesday off Revere Drive. Detectives identified the two men who broke in as Damarial Thomas and Julantee Alexander. Warrants for their arrest have been signed, but police say they're on the run.

Artz spoke to the 14-year-old's father, David Wright, on the phone Friday. He was out of town on business at the time and said one of the intruders is a friend of a music artist he represents through his record label. He wanted them to know what they put his family through.

“I hear my mom. I hear mom, she's crying. I think she's dead, I think she's dead,” the teen sobs over the phone.

Mom and all four children were OK. The two men shot at the mom and her other daughter, who is 2.

Police ask anyone who knows where the two are to call immediately.
