Teen arrested in DeKalb student's death

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a DeKalb County high school senior, but they're still searching for others.

Eighteen-year-old Columbia High School student Dominique Boyer was gunned down Thursday. Police said he was with a group of people when a passenger in a tan Mercury Mountaineer opened fire.

Detectives believe the assailants have gang ties, but Boyer doesn't.

"It appears (from)  what we know at this time, because this is an ongoing investigation, is that he was totally an unintended victim in all of this," DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander said.

Police arrested a 16-year-old but said one to three others involved remain on the loose. The suspect in custody has not been named.

Anyone with information is asked to call DeKalb police at 770-724-7850.
