Teachers all around metro Atlanta received some big "Back 2 School" surprises

That moment where you think your boss might be quitting but Fred Blankenship pops out to say hello instead...

That's what happened to a group of high school teachers in Fairburn last week as they prepped for #Back2School last week.

For the second year in a row, WSB-TV picked four deserving local schools to stage a surprise visit with teachers before they kick off the school year. This year's selections were from across the greater Atlanta metro area and included Creekside High in Fairburn, Osborne High in Marietta, South Gwinnett High in Snellville and Freedom Middle Sschool in South Fulton.

The video above is from Fred's visit on Friday to Creekside. He's the story behind that visit and a few more of our favorite moments from this year's visits:

As alarms blared over the school's intercom, teachers were summoned for an "emergency" meeting -- which usually means bad news.

While they huddled in a circle, worrying about what was to come, Fred Blankenship was hiding just feet away in the school's cafeteria.

Sorry, not sorry!

The video above shows the great moment of the big reveal. Suffice it to say Fred was just as thrilled to be able to tell this group of amazing teachers just how much we appreciate them as they were to get selfies with their favorite rhyme-dropping anchor!

Here are some more of our favorite school visit moments:

When Linda Stouffer totally wore red on purpose to get in to that Cardinals spirit at Osborne High School (wink wink).

When Karen Minton posed for pics with some of her biggest fans at South Gwinnett High School!

When Creekside High School's Teacher of the Year out-Freded Fred:

When Mark Arum had a celeb moment with these lovely ladies at Freedom Middle School:

When South Gwinnett High School had no idea Karen Minton was hiding just around the corner:
