MILTON, Ga. - Police may be closer to tracking down the gunman who killed a Milton teen more than a week ago.
On Thursday, police released surveillance video of three men whom they believe could be potential suspects. Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik spoke to the lead detective on the case.
“Everyone we interviewed about the victim said he was a great kid -- no trouble, was about to start college. (We) don't even think he had a parking ticket," Milton Police Detective Kevin Barry told Petchenik.
Chris Walker, 19, was shot to death in his driveway after a trip to the North Point Mall area. Surveillance video from a Taco Bell restaurant on Haynes Bridge Road shows Walker and a friend entering to order dinner, and a man seems to be staring at him. Police believe Walker’s chain caught his eye, and the group followed him to Milton to rob him.
Walker’s family laid him to rest Monday. His mother said she is hopeful the new video will lead to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to the Crimestoppers tip line at 404-577-8477. Crimestoppers is offering a $5,000 reward in the case.
