Stray bullet strikes child in DeKalb apartment

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Police say a stray bullet entered a DeKalb County apartment building and struck a 6-year-old girl.

The shooting happened Monday afternoon on Meadowglenn Village Lane at a complex just north of Spaghetti Junction near Doraville.

Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said the child was not seriously hurt.

NewsChopper 2 showed police questioning several men in handcuffs outside the apartment.

It's the second child in DeKalb County hit by a bullet inside their own home in less than 24 hours.

Police say a bullet went through the window of an apartment at the Highland East Atlanta apartments on Sunday night and injured a 5-year-old child.
