Spelman student robbed at gunpoint near campus

ATLANTA — A Spelman College student says she is shaken up after being robbed at gunpoint on Sells Avenue in southwest Atlanta.

Skyla Lucineo says a man robbed her Friday around 6:40 a.m., outside her Atlanta apartment.  Lucineo said she was on her way to talk to some high school students about going to college when the incident happened. She was about to get into a friend's car when the armed gunman ran up to her, grabbed her purse and her friend's iPhone.

“I saw him with a gun he pointed to my face. He didn't say any words. I just started screaming ‘Please don't hurt me, please don't kill me," she said.

Lucineo and her friend were not hurt.

So far, police have not made any arrests.
