SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. - Spalding County authorities are looking for a suspect in the Friday night shooting death of a Griffin man.
Just after 10 p.m. Friday, Spalding sheriff's deputies found the unidentified shooting victim in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of Camden Road, Capt. Tony Ranieri said.
The man was taken to Spalding Regional Hospital, where he later died.
Through witness interviews, deputies identified 30-year-old Kendrick Monquell Cheeves of Griffin as the suspect in the shooting, Ranieri said. Cheeves lived at the home where the victim was found, but fled the scene after the shooting.
A 5-foot-7, 160-pound man, Cheeves is wanted on felony murder and aggravated assault charges. He is considered armed and dangerous, Ranieri said.
Anyone with information about Cheeves' whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Spalding County Sheriff's Office at 770-467-4282.
