Residents in South Fulton County subdivision fed up with burglaries

Joe Stalls watches with anger as his surveillance cameras capture someone dressed in all black breaking into his South Fulton County home.

"It's a very quiet neighborhood and everyone sees us as prey," Stalls said.

The video shows a young man throw a brick through the back glass door around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Once he throws it, he runs away. He then comes back, but something spooks him off.

He comes back again a couple minutes later and this time, he goes inside.

Stalls said the thief took more than $1,000 in cash from his home.

Stalls had to pay out of pocket to replace the door and says what happened has him and his wife shaken up.

He has lived on Escalade Drive off of Welcome All Road for 10 years and says Friday night's break-in is just the latest one.

"I'm the eighth person in this 24-house subdivision that (has) been burglarized this year alone," Stalls said.

Another neighbor who was burglarized in May says the problem is only getting worse.

Stalls says if the thief comes back while he is home, he will protect himself with more than just a camera.
