Hapeville police find man dead near dumpster

A man was found dead Monday night near an apartment complex dumpster in Hapeville.

According to police, officers responded just after 11 p.m. to a report of gunshots at the Clarion Court Apartments on King Arnold Street. They said they found a man in his 20s dead near a dumpster with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Police said they found a gun nearby.

Investigators collected evidence into early Tuesday morning.

A medical examiner later determined the cause of death to be suicide.
