Good Samaritans rush to help I-285 crash victim

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Dozens of people came to the aid of a driver whose car flipped over on the shoulder of I-285 North Saturday afternoon.

The accident that left a car upside down happened between Camp Creek Parkway and Campbellton Road on I-285.

Channel 2 Action News obtained cellphone video of the panic that followed the crash as good Samaritans and first responders tried to help the driver.

"It was just about doing the right thing," one good Samaritan said. "Give him a better chance to fight for his life. That's what it's all about."

The good Samaritan, who does not identified, says he helped flip the victim's car over.

"I cut the seat belt while I was talking to him. He wasn't conscious, but he was breathing so we knew he was alive," the good Samaritan said. "He's somebody's father. He's somebody's brother. He's somebody's husband. Look like he had a wedding ring on."

Police have not released any information on the driver's condition.
