SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A father accused of leaving his 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old in a car while running from police went before a judge in South Fulton County Tuesday.
At the court hearing, the state attorney asked for there to be no bond for Demario Evans, 28. The judge disagreed, and set bond at $56,000.
In court, Channel 2's Liz Artz learned that Evans had two other open cases at the time he was accused of running away from authorities, as well as a suspended license.
Evans' attorney used his children as the reason for the judge to give Evans' bond.

Nearly half of the $56,000 bond is for the cruelty to children charges. Currently, Evans is looking for a job and is now living with his mother.
