Six-year-old Hiram boy dies before Christmas arrives

HIRAM, Ga. — Brantley Dobbs, the 6-year-old brain cancer patient who wanted to see Christmas one last time, has died.

His family published a statement that Brantley died Wednesday night.

Speaking for the Hiram family, Brantley’s care-givers at Hospice Atlanta, offered the following statement:

“Brantley’s family sends their heartfelt gratitude for all of the love and support sent their way. The death of a child, especially at this time of year, is incredibly daunting. Please continue sending them love and light through your thoughts and prayers.

“Due to the overwhelming response of ornaments, we are asking that in lieu of ornaments – please make a donation in Brantley’s honor to Hospice Atlanta Pediatric Program.”

Donors can send gifts to Hospice Atlanta, in honor of Brantley Dobbs, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, Ga., 30319.

Brantley didn’t live to see Dec. 25, but with the help of hundreds of well-wishers who sent him thousands of ornaments from around the world, Brantley did enjoy a kind of Christmas celebration.
