Shots fired at police during Clayton County drug raid

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County police arrested three men after someone fired shots at officers during a morning drug raid.

Daquan Terry was charged with 10 counts of aggravated assault, five counts of possession of a firearm during a crime, two counts of theft by receiving and one count of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana with intent to distribute, police said.

Clyde Walker Jr. was charged with two counts of theft by receiving, one count of obstruction and one count of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana with intent to distribute, police said.

Aldren Ellis was charged with two counts of theft by receiving and one count of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana with intent to distribute, police said.

Authorities told Channel 2's Tom Jones that narcotics officers arrived at a home on Roundtree Crossing about 5:45 a.m. Friday to execute a search warrant.

Neighbors told Jones they've had problems with the home and there is constant traffic.

Once officers approached the home someone fired several shots at them and they retreated and called for backup, police said.

"It sounded like, maybe a firecracker or something. It had four of those after that. Boom. Boom. All the windows started bursting," neighbor Maurice Thomas said.

The SWAT team surrounded the home and a hostage negotiator talked two people out.

The Clayton County Bomb Unit deployed an explosive detecting robot which found the third suspect inside the home and the SWAT team forced him to surrender by tossing gas canisters
