NORCROSS, Ga. - Police scoured the parking lot of a well-known Gwinnett County restaurant for clues in a shooting.
Norcross police and the GBI questioned witnesses after the shooting at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen on Jimmy Carter Boulevard near Interstate 85.
Employees told Channel 2's Tony Thomas someone was shot in a back parking lot just before 4 p.m. Friday.
NewsChopper 2 showed evidence markers scattered across the parking lot.
The victim ran through the restaurant asking for help before collapsing outside.
"It was crazy. You didn't think it was real when you see it," witness Alex Jackson said.
"When he first walked into the door he was fine," said hostess Joanne Thomas. "He had blood dripping all over him everywhere and he said, 'Someone call 911.'"
Police said people in two cars involved in the shooting drove away after the gunshots.
Investigators said the shooting didn't appear to be related to the restaurant in any way.
Police told Thomas the victim is in critical condition. The police chief said he believes there is video of the shootout from restaurant cameras.
