ATLANTA — Much of north Georgia will be mainly dry Wednesday and Thursday, but that could change by the end of the week.
Through the overnight and early morning hours of Thursday, the temperatures will be in the low to mid-70s. Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz says increasing moisture will mean a few isolated showers and storms on Thursday, followed by much more rain by the end of the week and weekend.

Not a total rainout this weekend, but it will be wet at times.

As we head into the day, Nitz said there will be a mix of sun and clouds. Later in the afternoon will be a better chance of rain and it only goes up from there.
According to Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan there's a chance for severe storms on Friday.
“Timing would be afternoon and evening, with the main threats being damaging wind, heavy rain and lightning,” Monahan said.
Monahan said more widespread rain is expected this weekend.
“A strong disturbance will enhance our chance of rain and storms for Saturday and Sunday, through next week,” Monahan said.
