ATLANTA - Atlanta police has confirmed to Channel 2 Action News a man was hit and killed by a school bus Friday afternoon.
Authorities said the incident happened near 820 James Jackson Parkway in northwest Atlanta.
There was one student from Woodson Elementary School on the bus at the time of the accident, but was not injured.
Authorities said the victim is a locally known man and he darted in front of the bus and was struck. The driver of the bus will likely not face charges in the accident.
James Jackson Pkwy. is closed north of Hollowell Parkway due to the investigation.
