Escort ad features photos of women in Atlanta firehouse

ATLANTA — The city of Atlanta is trying to find out who allowed several women to pose for risque pictures inside a fire station.

The pictures were posted under the escort section of Backpage.com.

The women took those photos inside Fire Station No. 2 on Jonesboro Road in southeast Atlanta.

They were given freedom to roam around the station so much so that they had time to change clothes.

The risque photos show one woman on top of a fire engine, in a fire jacket and one is in a firefighter's locker.

Another is in a suggestive pose. Others were too provocative to show.

Now someone could be fired after the photos made it onto Backpage.com, an advertising website where escorts seek out customers.

The city wants to know who gave the women permission to shoot the photos at the fire station.

Channel 2's Tom Jones called one of the women who called herself "the real deal" in one of the ads.

No one answered.

Jones learned later the pages had been removed from the site.

Mayor Kasim Reed's office released a statement saying, "The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department will launch an internal investigation into the photos and will take decisive action based on the outcome of the investigation."

Residents that Jones spoke with say fire equipment should be used to fight fires and not for adult entertainment purposes.
