Reward offered in arrests of duo caught attacking mother, daughter

BAXLEY, Ga. — The community in Baxley, Georgia is coming together to help find the two people seen on video attacking a mother and her daughter outside a restaurant last week.

Police have identified the duo as Nathaniel Smith and Latasha Smith.

The victims told Baxley police the suspects were unhappy with their food order. The verbal argument turned violent when one of the suspects began to punch the restaurant owner repeatedly.

When the victim’s teenage daughter came out of a car to break up the fight, video shows Nathaniel Smith punching her in the face.

The pair could be charged with aggravated battery and cruelty to children.

The Baxley Police Department told Channel 2 Action News that residents have gathered together $2,000 to help find Nathanial and Latasha Smith.

The suspects drove away from the restaurant in a cream or tan-colored Cadillac Escalade with tag number REU8495. Officials said they headed north on Highway 144.
