DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The DeKalb County Medical Examiner has identified the man who was killed in a hit-and-run on Saturday.
Gerald Dent, 22, was walking along Snapfinger Woods Drive when he was hit by a car.
Police arrested Michael Burnett, 34, in connection with the hit-and-run. He's charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to police, Burnett was arrested at a hotel in Forest Park. He was driving a rental car during the time of the crash and had warrants from out of state, police said.
"That hurts really bad because he could've assisted him. He could've seen if there's something he could've done," said Beverly Shanks, Dent's grandmother. "He'll have to live with this the rest of his life."

Shanks told Channel 2's Chris Jose Dent was a 2013 graduate of Druid Hills High School. She believes he was headed home after a rap performance on the morning he was killed.
"My granddaughter got in touch with me. She told me what happened. I was in shock like everyone else in the family," said Shanks.
The family is currently planning Dent's funeral.
