Proposed Gwinnett gaming resort a no-go

NORCROSS, Ga. — Plans for a lottery casino along Interstate 85 in Gwinnett County are off.

A representative for Atlanta developer Dan O'Leary said he has given up his option to buy the OFS Fiber Optic plant off Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

O'Leary told Channel 2's Jim Strickland he had invested more than $2 million of his own money on plans for a $1 billion gaming resort filled with lottery slot machines aimed at funding the HOPE scholarship.

O'Leary is looking for other sites.
