Powerball jackpot reaches $216 million

ATLANTA — No one won Wednesday's Powerball drawing, causing the jackpot to climb to $216 million.

Two ticket holders matched five numbers on Wednesday, winning $1 million each.

The price of a Powerball ticket doubled to $2 at the beginning of 2012 with plans for larger jackpots in the future. The jackpot has now rolled over 12 times since Oct. 6.

The drawing for the $216 million jackpot will be held at 11 p.m. on Saturday. It will be aired live before Channel 2 Action News at 11.

The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot is 1 in 175,223,510. A winning ticket must match all five numbers and the Powerball.

A player in Delaware won the last big jackpot - $50 million on Oct. 3. A Nebraska player won the biggest Powerball jackpot ever, $365 million on Feb. 18, 2006.
