ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed during a home invasion.
Homicide investigators told Channel 2 they believe the woman’s home on Van Vleck Avenue in southeast Atlanta was targeted for robbery.
Sources close to the investigation said police rushed to the home around midnight and found a woman in her 30s dead in a closet. Police said the woman may have been trying to hide when she was shot.
Police said a man inside the home witnessed the shooting.
“There was at least one other person in the house that is cooperating with the investigation,” Lt. Paul Guerrucci of the Atlanta Police Department said.
Channel 2’s Darryn Moore spoke to the victim’s brother, who identified his sister as 30-year-old Camease Miller. He said she had two young sons.
