Police seek 3 thieves who stole guns in Cartersville crime spree

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — The search is on for three thieves police say are responsible for a string of crimes.

They are wanted for stealing guns and a truck.

Neighbors say the men overlooked a wallet, GPS device, iPad, laptop and a TV. But residents say the thieves did not pass up guns.

Thieves stole Andarius Daniel’s gun out of his car, in Cartersville’s Wingfoot Park subdivision.

Police said it was just one of several firearms they swiped Friday. “You wouldn’t think that it would happen here. Especially with the police station being not even 30 seconds around the corner from this neighborhood,” Daniel said.

Investigators said three men broke into a dozen cars, stole a blue 2011 Ford F-150 and burglarized a convenience store. Surveillance photos were taken inside the shop. Police say in one photo, it appears a gun is peeking out of a suspect’s pocket.

Daniel worries the stolen weapons could be used to cause more harm.

“The things that’s going on nowadays with guns being out of control. So I really hope that they catch them and just put everybody’s mind at ease, especially in this neighborhood,” Daniel said.

For Daniel’s neighbor, Ryan Bohannon, the crime spree serves as a reminder to take avoid leaving a gun in the car overnight.

“Making sure it’s on me. Protection is the biggest thing and make sure my family’s safe,” he said.

The thieves were last seen in a dark-colored sedan, believed to be a Chrysler 200.

Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call police.
