Police arrest 4 after Clayton County chase

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County investigators said they have 1 person in custody after a chase that ended in a crash Friday afternoon.

Officials told Channel 2 Action News that a Clayton County sheriff's deputy pursued the car down Tara Boulevard when the driver refused to pull over for a routine traffic stop.

The driver eventually crashed at an apartment complex near Mount Zion Road. Deputies said the man ran from the vehicle through a residential area and into a hotel.

News Chopper 2 showed police putting one man in handcuffs about 30 minutes later at the hotel.

"Get the camera out of my face," the suspect told Channel 2's Tom Jones.

The suspect maintains he was just sitting by the pool.

"I'm out here chilling. Out here minding my own business. What y'all arresting me for? I wasn't involved in no chase," the man said.

Deputies have only said the suspect was driving a Honda Accord with an expired tag.
